Nancy G. Werner, 70, of La Porte City, died at Cedar Valley Hospice Home on Sunday, July 18, 2010.
She was born April 13, 1940, in Waterloo, the daughter of Lloyd and Lessie Harris Appleton. Nancy grew up in Raymond and graduated from Don Bosco High School in 1958.
Nancy married Robert H. Federspiel on September 5, 1959, in Raymond; he died September 29, 1962. She married Dean Werner on November 11, 1963 in Eagle Center.
She is survived by her husband Dean of La Porte City; three sons: Mike and wife Yvonne of La Porte City, Mark and wife Robin of Dysart and Matt and wife Andrea of Mt. Auburn; two daughters: Karla of Waterloo and Karen McLaren and husband Tom of Germantown Hills, Illinois; eleven grandchildren: Valerie (Travis) Hoy of La Porte City, Crystal (Mike) Spence of La Porte City, Jesse and Brittany Werner of Centennial, Colorado, Ray Werner of Dubuque, Ivy Werner, Isabelle Werner, Kyle McLaren, Noah McLaren, Jacob Werner, Josie Werner and Jaren Werner, all at home; four great grandsons: Chase and Wyatt Hoy and Brady and Sawyer Spence; two sisters: Kathy Berner of Independence and Becky Phelps of La Porte City; and her brother Randy Appleton and wife Diane of Blakesburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert.
Services were held July 22, 2010, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
