Lacy Shileny of La Porte City and Scott Meyer of Cedar Falls are announcing their engagement and upcoming late summer wedding.

Parents of the couple are Dennis and Mary Shileny of La Porte City, Steve and Lori Meyer of Johnston, and Harry and Elaine Brannen of Van Meter.

The bride-to-be is a biology and biochemistry student at the University of Northern Iowa and the groom-to-be is an Iowa State graduate working as a project engineer at Viking Pump.

A late afternoon outdoor ceremony followed by a dinner and dance will be held at the Park Place Event Centre in Cedar Falls on August 29, 2009.
