Because the holiday season can be a challenging time for families who have lost a loved one, the staff at La Porte City Funeral Service invites the families they have served in the past year to attend a special pre-holiday gathering on Thursday, November 19 at the La Porte City Community Center (300 1st Street, La Porte City).

The program begins at 7 p.m. and includes a video and reading of the names of deceased loved ones, a brief meditation and the opportunity to create an ornament in memory of a loved one, to be hung on a special Christmas tree. The La Porte City Funeral Service staff will also share a handout with ideas that might make the holiday season easier, along with a gift for each family in memory of their loved one.
