Celebrate Christmas at the FFA/Ag Museum

The La Porte City FFA Historical & Ag Museum is busy planning their annual Festival of Trees holiday celebration. All decked out in holiday splendor, the Museum will be ready for viewing beginning Saturday, November 21st. Local clubs, organizations, and churches are supplying decorated trees as part of the festivities. The public will be able to vote on for their favorite tree to be crowned, the People’s Choice. The Festival of Trees runs during normal business hours, Tuesday and Thursday’s from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and Saturday’s 9:00 am to noon, from November 21 through December 5th. Closed Thanksgiving Day.

 

The Museum will participate in La Porte City’s, “Christmas in Our Town” celebration on December 5th. La Porte City merchants and organizations are planning a full day of holiday events for the entire family. The Museum will be open extended hours from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm that day. Voting for People’s Choice decorated tree will conclude at 1:00 pm. Be sure to stop by and view the Museum’s holiday decorations as part of your tour of La Porte City. After the event, most of the trees will be given to families in the area.

 

The Museum will also be the drop off point for the Women’s Club, “Make it a Souper Christmas” project. The public is encouraged to donate cans of soup that will be donated to the Lord’s Pantry food bank. This project runs through December 12,

 

The Museum will close for the season on December 12th. Thank you all for attending this year’s exhibits and events. Watch for upcoming details for next season’s theme and schedule of events. Museum will re-open in early April.
