Union senior Michael Wauters is one of thirty high school boys selected to the 2010 Iowa Basketball Coaches Association Academic All State basketball team. Wauters will be recognized on March 12 during halftime of the Class 2A state championship game at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. He was one of over 110 students throughout the state nominated for the award, which requires a minimum composite score of 25 on the ACT, a 3.25 grade point average and a class rank in the top 25%.

Michael is the son of Rich and Jannie Wauters of Dysart.
